There are litterally thousands of individual engraved fascets on this piece that makes the piece shimmer and move as the light or your position changes.
 
The engraving is 5.5" diameter Fine Silver (.999) colorized with translucent vitreous enamels in a kiln at 1400 degrees.  The ~13.5" square picture frame is recycled mahogany from a shelf originally installed into the broom closet of a house built in 1955 and later removed for renovations.  The last image shows a closeup of the engraved silver before enameling
